Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of sirloin steak, sliced into strips
  • 3 large bell peppers of different colors, thickly sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • ¾ cup of hearty beef broth
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes
  • ¼ cup of soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch or flour

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by combining the hot beef broth, bouillon cubes, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, ground ginger, black pepper, salt, and cornstarch/flour in a bowl. Stir well until the bouillon cubes are crushed and the ingredients are well mixed.
  2. Place the sirloin steak strips into the slow cooker. Pour the prepared sauce over the steak. Add the sliced bell peppers, onions, and garlic on top.
  3. Set the slow cooker to LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 3 hours. If possible, stir the ingredients halfway through the cooking time.
  4. Once done, stir the mixture well and transfer it to a serving dish. Serve it over rice or noodles or as a side dish with mashed or baked potatoes.
  5. Notes:
    • While it may seem like there’s not enough sauce at the beginning, the beef and vegetables will release a lot of liquid, resulting in plenty of sauce by the end of the cooking time.
