Banana Pudding Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients:
For the Rice Krispie Layer:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 packet (10 ounces) small marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
For the Banana Pudding Layer:
- 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant banana pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 cup sliced bananas
Optional Topping:
- Whipped cream
Instructions:
Prepare the Rice Krispie Layer (5 minutes):
- Melt the Butter: In a large pot, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.
- Add Marshmallows: Once the butter is melted, add the marshmallows. Stir continuously until they are completely melted and smooth.
- Mix with Cereal: Remove the pot from the heat and add the Rice Krispies cereal. Use a spatula or wax paper to mix the cereal with the melted marshmallow mixture until well coated.
- Press the Layer: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with oil or butter. Spread the Rice Krispie mixture evenly in the pan, using a spatula or wax paper to press it down firmly.
- Cool and Harden: Allow the Rice Krispie layer to cool and harden completely at room temperature.
Make the Banana Pudding Layer (3 minutes):
- Prepare Pudding: In a bowl, mix the instant banana pudding powder with cold milk. Stir for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Add Bananas: Gently fold in the sliced bananas.
Assemble and Chill (2 hours):
- Spread Pudding: Once the Rice Krispie layer has hardened, evenly spread the banana pudding mixture on top.
- Refrigerate: Cover the baking dish and place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until the pudding layer is set. For best results, chill for 2 hours.
Serve and Enjoy:
- Cut and Serve: Cut the Banana Pudding Rice Krispie Treats into squares before serving.
