This savory Italian Stromboli is a straightforward and delectable solution for feeding a large group. With just five key ingredients, it’s brimming with capicola, melted mozzarella cheese, and a sprinkle of store-bought pizza seasoning. Serve it alongside jarred marinara sauce for those who enjoy a good dip.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 roll of Pillsbury pizza dough
- 8 slices of deli-style ham
- 10 slices of Genoa-style salami
- 12 slices of sandwich-style pepperoni
- 8 slices of provolone or mozzarella cheese (shredded cheese is also an option)
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons of freshly chopped parsley
- 3 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese
PREPARATION
- Combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and Parmesan cheese in a bowl. Set this mixture aside.
- Prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- Stretch out the pizza dough until it nearly covers your baking sheet.
- Begin layering your deli meats on the dough. Start with the ham, followed by the salami, and finally the pepperoni. Top this off with a layer of cheese.
- Roll the Stromboli lengthwise, ensuring the seam is well-sealed. Pinch and tuck any excess dough under the Stromboli. Make a few slits on the top with a serrated knife to allow steam to escape during baking.
- Brush the top of the Stromboli with the garlic butter mixture.
- Bake the Stromboli according to the instructions on the pizza dough packaging.
- While traditional Stromboli includes red sauce, I prefer to serve it on the side for dipping. Feel free to add it inside if you prefer!
- Bon Appétit!
