Ingredients (Serves 6–8 slices)
- 1 ball of pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 6 slices Genoa salami
- 6 slices deli ham
- 6 slices pepperoni or capicola
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded provolone or Italian blend cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional: 1/4 cup sliced banana peppers, sautéed onions, or spinach
- Marinara or pizza sauce, for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the dough:
On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 10×14 inches. - Layer the fillings:
- Evenly layer the salami, ham, and pepperoni across the dough, leaving a 1-inch border along the edges.
- Sprinkle the cheeses on top.
- Add Italian seasoning and any optional fillings.
- Roll it up:
Starting on the long side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log, tucking in the sides as you go. Pinch the seams closed. - Transfer and score:
Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on the baking sheet. Brush the top with beaten egg and cut 3–4 shallow slits across the top to allow steam to escape. - Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
- Cool and slice:
Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
Tips & Variations
- Make it vegetarian with sautéed mushrooms, spinach, roasted red peppers, and mozzarella.
- Add heat with red pepper flakes or spicy giardiniera.
- Freeze before baking for a make-ahead meal—just thaw and bake as needed.
Enjoy !!
