Introduction
These Flaky Sausage & Cheese Crescent Rolls are everything you love in a savory breakfast or snack: buttery crescent dough, sizzling sausage, and melted cheese wrapped into a warm, golden bite. Perfect for busy mornings, brunch tables, or quick party appetizers, they come together in just minutes and disappear even faster.
Ingredients (Makes 8 rolls)
- 1 (8-count) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/2 lb (225g) breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or plant-based), cooked and crumbled
- 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese blend)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash, optional)
- Optional: pinch of black pepper, chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the sausage:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease. - Assemble the rolls:
Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles.
Spoon about 1 tablespoon of cooked sausage and a sprinkle of cheese onto the wide end of each triangle.
Roll up the dough, starting from the wide end toward the point, wrapping the filling inside. Place on the prepared baking sheet. - Brush with egg wash (optional):
For a golden finish, brush the tops with beaten egg. - Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown.
- Serve warm, optionally garnished with parsley or served with dipping sauces like honey mustard or spicy ketchup.
