KYNALL RECIPES : Italian Pinwheels

Italian Pinwheels: The Ultimate Party Appetizer Guide

  • Author: kynall

Description

These Italian Pinwheels are a delicious, bite-sized twist on the classic Italian sub. Made with a flavorful cream cheese spread, provolone, and salami rolled up in soft flour tortillas, they’re perfect for parties, lunches, or make-ahead snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, drained and diced

  • 1/2 cup pepperoncini or banana peppers, drained and diced

  • 16 thin slices provolone cheese

  • 1/2 lb sliced salami or soppresetta

  • 68 large flour tortillas (burrito-size)

  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Make the Cream Cheese Spread
In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Then stir in the roasted red peppers and pepperoncini.

  • Spread and Layer
Spread about 1/2 cup of the cream cheese mixture over each tortilla, going all the way to the edges.
Lay slices of provolone cheese in a line near one edge of the tortilla, followed by a line of salami slightly above the cheese (so both layers show in each bite).

  • Roll and Chill
Roll the tortilla up tightly. Wrap each roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or until ready to serve).
This helps firm them up for easier slicing.

  • Slice and Serve
Before serving, slice the rolls into pinwheels. Enjoy!
