Air Fryer Hot Chicken Ham and Cheese Wraps

The Ultimate Guide to Air Fryer Hot Chicken Ham and Cheese Wraps

  • Author: kynall

Description

These wraps are a quick and satisfying meal, featuring tender chicken ham, creamy Swiss cheese, and a touch of tangy Dijon mustard. Cooked in the air fryer, they achieve a perfectly golden and crispy exterior in just five minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 (8-inch) flour tortillas

  • 8 slices Black Forest chicken ham

  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

  • Mayonnaise, to taste

  • Dijon mustard, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  • Warm the Tortillas: Place the tortillas on a microwave-safe plate and cover with a damp paper towel. Microwave for 20–30 seconds until pliable but not hot. This prevents cracking when rolling.

  • Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and allow it to preheat while assembling the wraps.

  • Spread Condiments: Evenly spread a thin layer of mayonnaise followed by Dijon mustard across each tortilla, reaching the edges for full flavor.

  • Layer Fillings: Place two slices of chicken ham slightly overlapping in the center of each tortilla. Top with a slice of Swiss cheese, positioning them to cover about two-thirds of the tortilla, leaving space for folding.

  • Roll the Wraps: Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll from the bottom up, keeping the roll tight to seal in the ingredients

  • Apply Butter: Use a pastry brush to lightly coat the outside of each wrap with melted butter. This step ensures a golden brown exterior and enhances flavor.

  • Air Fry: Place the wraps seam-side down in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching. Cook for 5 minutes, checking halfway through to ensure even browning

    1. Rest and Serve: Allow the wraps to cool for 2 minutes before slicing. This resting period helps the cheese set slightly, preventing it from oozing out when cut.

    💡 Tips & Variations

    • Cheese Alternatives: Provolone or cheddar can be used in place of Swiss cheese for a different flavor profile.

    • Add Veggies: Include sautéed onions, bell peppers, or spinach for added nutrition and taste.

    • Make Ahead: Assemble the wraps ahead of time and refrigerate. Air fry when ready to serve.

    • Oven Option: If you don’t have an air fryer, bake the wraps in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Enjoy these crispy and flavorful wraps as a quick lunch, dinner, or snack option!
