  • 1/2 cup (60g) of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional, for more flavor)
  • 1 3/4 cups (220g) of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (30g) of cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

 Make the Dough:

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Optionally, mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Combine flour, cornstarch, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.

2. Shape the Cookies:

  • Divide the dough into two portions. Shape each portion into a log approximately 2 inches thick.
  • Wrap each log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to make slicing easier and prevent spreading during baking.

3. Bake the Cookies:

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice the chilled dough into 1/4-inch-thick rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges turn golden. Avoid overbaking to retain a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.

4. Cool and Enjoy:

  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
