  • Author: M

Ingredients

Scale

Essential Ingredients:

  • Chocolate:
    • 12 ounces high-quality dark or milk chocolate (for the base layer)
    • 12 ounces high-quality white chocolate (for the top layer)
  • Peppermint Candies:
    • 1 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies
  • Optional Additions:
    • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract (optional, for enhanced flavor)
    • Toppings such as sprinkles, nuts, or edible glitter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base Layer:
    • Melt the dark or milk chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. Stir frequently to prevent burning.
    • Pour the melted chocolate onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread it evenly with an offset spatula.
    • Allow the base layer to cool and set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
  2. Add the White Chocolate Layer:
    • Melt the white chocolate using the same method as the base layer.
    • Carefully spread the melted white chocolate over the hardened dark chocolate layer, ensuring it covers evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the Peppermint:
    • Immediately sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies over the warm white chocolate layer.
    • Press gently to ensure the candy pieces stick to the chocolate.
  4. Set and Break:
    • Chill the peppermint bark in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours or until completely hardened.
    • Once set, remove it from the refrigerator and break it into uneven pieces for serving or packaging.

Enjoy your festive and delicious peppermint bark!
