Scale

For the Casserole:

  • 3 cups cooked chicken (shredded or cubed)
  • 1 ½ cups ham (diced or sliced)
  • 2 cups Swiss cheese (shredded or sliced)
  • 1 ½ cups cream sauce (made from sour cream, milk, or heavy cream)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for flavor)

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (regular or panko)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese (optional, for added flavor)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  • Prepare the Layers:
    • Spread the shredded chicken evenly in the bottom of the baking dish.
    • Layer the ham slices or cubes on top of the chicken.
    • Add a layer of Swiss cheese, ensuring full coverage.
  • Make the Cream Sauce:
    • In a bowl, mix your chosen cream base (sour cream, milk, or heavy cream) with optional spices (garlic powder, paprika) for added flavor.
    • Pour the cream sauce evenly over the casserole layers.
  • Add the Topping:
    • In a separate bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter (and Parmesan cheese, if using).
    • Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
  • Bake:
    • Place the casserole in the preheated oven.
    • Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
  • Cool and Serve:
    • Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving to set the layers.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and enjoy!
