- 1 package (14 oz) of cocktail sausages (smokies)
- 1 lb of bacon, cut into thirds
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- Optional: 2 tbsp of butter, melted (for extra caramelization)
- Optional spices:
- Cayenne pepper for added heat
- Maple syrup for a richer sweetness
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top for even cooking.
- Prepare the Smokies and Bacon
- Cut each bacon strip into thirds. Wrap each smokie with a piece of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.
- Coat with Brown Sugar
- Roll the bacon-wrapped smokies in brown sugar until fully coated. For added depth of flavor, drizzle melted butter over the top.
- Arrange on the Baking Sheet
- Place the wrapped smokies on the wire rack, ensuring they are spaced apart to promote even cooking.
- Bake
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and the sugar is caramelized to perfection.
- Cool and Serve
- Let the smokies cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm for the best taste and texture. Enjoy!
