  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Submerge chicken pieces in buttermilk. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to tenderize and enhance flavor.
  2. Prepare the Coating: In a large bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture for an even coating.
  4. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat air fryer to 390°F (199°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  5. Air Fry the Chicken: Arrange chicken pieces in the basket without overcrowding. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray. Cook for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Serve: Allow chicken to rest briefly before serving. Enjoy your crispy and juicy air-fried chicken!
