Description

Enjoy this easy-to-make Chicken Cordon Bleu Stromboli, a delicious fusion of ham, chicken, and Swiss cheese rolled into golden pizza dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breast (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 slices ham (preferably honey or black forest)
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese (or Gruyère)
  • 1 sheet refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).
  4. Let the chicken rest, then slice it thinly.

Assemble the Stromboli:

  1. Roll out the pizza dough into a 12×16 inch rectangle.
  2. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard and mayonnaise over the dough.
  3. Layer the ham slices evenly, followed by Swiss cheese.
  4. Arrange the sliced chicken on top, and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Carefully roll the dough into a log, pinching the edges to seal.

Bake the Stromboli:

  1. Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is bubbly.

Finish and Serve:

  1. Allow the stromboli to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  2. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
  3. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or a side salad.

Tips:

  • Add dried oregano or basil to the mustard and mayo for extra flavor.
  • Substitute Swiss cheese with provolone or cheddar if you prefer.
  • You can make the stromboli ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake.
  • Serve with marinara, ranch, or honey mustard for dipping.

Enjoy this savory, cheesy Chicken Cordon Bleu Stromboli!
