This easy Alice Springs Chicken recipe replicates the famous dish from Outback Steakhouse. Here’s how you can make it at home with simple ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 3 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 6 thick slices of bacon
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cut each chicken breast in half lengthwise.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides, then bake for 25 minutes.
  • While the chicken is baking, cook the bacon until the fat is rendered but it’s not yet crispy.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven and place the halved bacon slices on top of each chicken breast.
  • Put the chicken back in the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Take the chicken out again, sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top, and bake for another 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
  • Sprinkle the chopped green onions on top before serving.
